If you can take it anywhere but RIO, you should. I think that RIO sets up their science classes, especially CHM, BIO 156,201,202 and 205, for people to fail. The midterm and final are brutal.
I have taken all these at RIO and had a tough time, but then I took Patho and Statistics, and aced both classes.
I am finishing up CHM 130 online at Rio this semester, and I have really enjoyed it. The textbook applies how the chemistry principles are used in healthcare which I found useful. My professor has exceeded my expectations as far as helping me understand the subject. I found the midterm to be challenging, but my professor was very upfront in the study guide, so there weren't any real surprises. Prior to this course, I was definitely chemistry-phobic, but now, I am going into the final with an A. I also enjoyed not having to drive to a campus 3 days a week. I signed up for Rio after dropping out of the first day of CHM 130 at Estrella Mountain. The professor there announced that there would be no textbook, and she would not lecture. We would be responsible for learning the material in small groups. I am so glad I took a risk and took the class online w/Rio.
I have taken the bio 156 and bio 201 online and have found them to be very easy, but I am struggling with the RIO chm 130 course. I saw south mountain offers the chm 130 online without the lab, so I wonder if I pass the lab at RIO if I can just take the CHM 130 online at south mountain if my RIO lab counts.

I saw that South Mountain Community College offers the CHM 130 online and I was wondering if anyone else had more details on the class. How does it compare to RIO classes? Do you take the midterm and final exam tests in person? I have taken other classes at RIO like the Bio and I am afraid of the midterm and final at RIO. The CHM 130 class is the last course I need before I can apply. Thanks! Any info is appreciated.
