Hello!
I am trying to find current info about how much RN I/new grads make at Childrens National in DC. I saw on glassdoor that was anywhere between 26-30/hour? A thread on here from 2011 said 27. I am wondering the actual number because 26 seems very low for the DC area. Thanks so much!

I work at a hospital in DC competitive with Children's National and I started out making $27.33. A year and a half later I now make $29.03. However, that's just the base pay. Not sure about Children's but if the base pay is on the lower end, the differentials will usually make up for it. So where I work the differential for a week day night shift and weekend day shift is ~$7/hr extra and weekend night shift is ~$11/hr extra!
Though I can't answer specifically for Children's, I'm assuming the salaries are comparable!
Thanks so much for you info! I'm asking because I actually just got a job at hospital center and their rate is 28/hour with differentials. Weekends are 5/hour more nights are 4.65/hour more. I am interviewing for a job at children's and it is my dream job! But I feel like I won't take it if the rate is less since I have so many school loans to pay also hospital center requires a 18 month commitment or pay 5,000!
If anything I would expect Children's to pay more than hospital center, though I don't personally know RN's working at either but I've heard children's pays very well (just not sure how well for a new grad). If it's your dream job and the pay is doable you should definitely take it :) In order to save money if the pay is comparable or a bit less you could always live a bit farther out of the city. I started at my current job and had about a 30-45 min commute but saved $700 on rent each month, just one way to save :) hope this helps and good luck on the interview!
