Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) RN Residency July 2023 Cohort

Published

Hi everyone,

I couldn't find a thread for CHLA's July 2023 cohort so I wanted to start one. Good luck to everyone applying!

For those who haven't heard back yet, does you application stayus still show that it's under review?

Yes, it says under review and it was last updated 4/14

I don't think they're gonna sent out more offers at this point. I think it's very rude of them to keep us waiting for an update and not let us know we didn't get the position ? Oh well, good luck in your job search guys! You're gonna do great wherever you end up!

I agree!
At this point I think it's safe to say that we didn't get the position if we haven't heard back yet but I wish they let us officially know so we can go on to find other opportunities

Does anyone know the uniform requirements? Can we buy our own scrubs or is it dependent on each unit?

From what I've seen there's no color coordination since it's children's hospital ? I've seen a nurse in yellow scrubs there before and all the nurses seem to wear whatever scrubs they want. I've even seen nurses wearing t-shirts for their top

I asked this when I first interviewed and they said the only requirement is "kid-friendly" and they gave examples of superhero prints, etc.

I hear you and it's absolutely fair to feel this way. I think they've been pretty communicative and will want to let everyone know at the same time. I know I'm still working with them about an offer and assume others might be too? Regardless, I think their team really is doing their best and there might be more going on behind the scenes, perhaps some offers yet to come :)

Regardless, you definitely deserve a wonderful job journey and I hope that you love wherever it takes you!

Hi!

for those starting Monday, what is the uniform? Scrubs? Or business casual?

When I asked a supervisor on 5E the other day she told me either/or... sooo... for me I'll be in scrubs. I super duper dislike business casual LOL

Does anyone know where we will be meeting as well? I never got any details about orientation d:
