Children's Health Dallas February 2021 Nurse Residency

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hey everyone! Thought I'd start a thread for people who applied for the upcoming February residency cohort - didn't see one.

What did y'all list as your top 3 units? ? I put ED, CICU and meg/surg.

Crossing my fingers and hoping to hear about an interview soon ? Good luck!

Has anyone gotten their written letter email yet? I talked to the recruiter Tuesday morning and they gave me a start date but said to be on the lookout for the email. Just want to be sure I don’t miss it or that it doesn’t go to my my spam mailbox.

I have not. I was going to email/call my recruiter to go over a few things with her today. Hopefully I’ll hear back!

What specialty did you accept and offer in?

Received the offer letter today and some additional emails from the recruiter. We won't get much else until January, but just make sure you get all of your references to complete the survey.

Congrats guys! I am one semester behind yall, and I was wondering if ya'll had tips with the interview and application proccess? Also, does it matter what school you go to? I'm super nervous and I really want a job here!

Just know that the process takes awhile. This was my 2nd time applying, and I didn't hear anything back from my first application. Second time around, I think making a connection at Children's helped, and I also overhauled my resume to be a little less wordy and more succinct. Just be yourself; don't be nervous about the recruiter screening - they really want to help you put your best foot forward in regards to answering their questions. Know your "why" for Children's and your desired unit and be able to express your passion for those kids. I wish you the best!

I talked to my recruiter earlier and she gave me a start date, pay etc and emailed insurance benefits. She said it may still be a couple of weeks before an official letter so I wonder if it depends on unit or if something changed since this morning. You’re CICU right?

I think it probably depends on the unit. I’m going to PICU and from what she said today, they haven’t sent out anything and also confirmed it may be a few weeks before they do. I just didn’t receive my first email due to spam and now I’m freaked out that I’ll miss something important.

Thanks so much. How did you make a connection? Is it by putting a reference if you know someone that works there?

I just got an offer from the NICU! I am so so excited!!

Congrats! I got offered a position as well and accepted. Looks like we will be 2 of the 3 working together in February!

Just checking in again! Has anyone going to the PICU received the email with information or to send in references? Would you be willing to give me your contact info so I don’t have to use this forum for updates please?

I also had a phone interview that was with a recruiter for general screening, I believe.

The official interviews with the nurse mangers don't start until the week of October 5th is what the website says!

Hi for those who have had the first general phone interview with a recruiter, what did they ask you? Any tips or advice? I applied for the July 2021 cohort! Anything will help thank you!
