Just found this forum and I am thrilled to date, I have always had the goal of becoming a CRNA and it has been a long road towards that goal I am currently in my 40's and just a nurse for the last three years in ICN/PICU. I would like to apply now to two school but when reviewing the programs I noted that chemisty and statistics are a big part of the courses, do they teach you what you need to know or do they expect you remember your work from many many years prior college experience? Is this a realist goal at my age?
There are plenty of people on this board in their 40's persuing CRNA. As far as the chem and stats. I would suggest calling the schools you intend to apply to and find out what they recommend. Personally, when I took Chem the first time I wasn't very serious about it, so I retook Chem I and then took Chem II and Organic I. It was really helpful to me to have that refresher, and people have told me that it will help to have that fresh on the brain for school this fall. Best of luck to you and your endeavors.
I hated every minute of statistics, but I took it in the notoriously most difficult semester of my nursing classes. I ended up with a C. I should probably retake that one, eh?
