TWU requires that you have had chemistry recently but they offer a summer course for anyone that's accepted that is supposed to be designed just for anesthesia chemistry. Just wondering if anyone out that has taken this course? TWU told me it's online? I went ahead and registered at TCC to take chem this fall anyway. It's been nearly 20 years since I last took chem so it can't hurt me!

If I were you, take the online course offered during the summer. Forget about TCC. Its not going to help you.

Interesting. A PhD who teaches chemistry at TCC also teaches the chemistry course for TCU's anesthesia program. Could be quite helpful, I'd think.

Take the TWU online course....it's taught by the same instructor that you will have during the year. You'll get a good feel of his teaching style and the summer material will cover the first 6weeks or so of the fall course....huge when you start studying for that 1st Reinke exam and have a nagging chem test somewhere in the same time frame....it makes life much easier.

Which course at TWU is considered the Chemistry course? Interestingly none of the classes has the word chemistry in them.
Is it this one?
6311 Medical Physical Science - 3 Hours
The course is composed of two parts. The first is an introduction to structural recognition and nomenclature of organic compounds. The second includes an introduction to amino acids, lipids, membranes, protein structure and function and overview of the bioenergetics of the cell.
The same is true for TCU. Im guessing it is the physical science course.
Im considering buying the Patho and Chem books early to start reading and studying early. Sound like a good idea?

U don't think so? I'm taking general science majors chem & then following with science majors organic chem next summer. Wouldn't that cover all the chem I will need?

Ok, enquiring minds want to know...do u work for TCU cuz u know an awful lot about the program.
Hey, I'm not sure what the course is at TWU and I don't think TCU requires the recent chem. At least they didn't tell me anything about it. Did they tell u?

Everything I've told you guys can be found on their website, by calling the school, and going to meetings. That, and having over 20 years of experience. I have other connections to the school.
