Chattanooga State RN vs. Florida State College at Jacksonville? Help!

Published

I am so torn between these two schools.

I have been accepted for the fall 2014 nursing class to Chattanooga State. I currently live in Jacksonville, Florida, and I am making plans to move to Tennessee in time for the program. However, people here have been telling me about the nursing program at FSCJ.

I have only heard really good things about Chatt State's program, and I am so glad I got accepted. It was a huge weight off of my shoulders when I first read the acceptance email. I worked really hard to get accepted, and I'm thankful.

On the other hand, I have heard some good things about FSCJ, and some not so good things. For instance, a girl I work with graduated from their program and said it was difficult but doable; something I would expect from a nursing program. I've also heard that a good bit of people who graduate from their program do not pass the NCLEX. I could not find any pass rates regarding their past graduating classes.

The only reason I am torn between the two is because, in Jacksonville, I'm only two hours away from my family vs 6 if I move to Chattanooga. I also have a good job here at a restaurant with good pay that I would be able to keep if I were to get into the program at FSCJ.

I know these schools are in different states and very far away from each other, but can anyone vouch for either school?

Thank you!
