I'm currently in school at Chattahoochee Tech and I'm just finishing up my pre-reqs for the nursing program at this school. I have a few questions for the patrons who have taken this program at CTC or for those that are currently in it that may be able to answer some of my questions. I plan to apply for Fall 2015.

So, my first general question is how do I apply for another college? I want to safe guard myself in case I don't get in at CTC.

These questions are for those who have already been accepted to the program, or have gotten an interview before:

How exactly does the interview work? I read somewhere that you have to go in front of a panel.

Do I need to bring my resume?

Did you get extra points for having experience in the medical field already?

If you're just commenting because you're going for this program as well that's fine :) I'm new to this site so friends on here are appreciated. Thanks in advance to any of the kind folks on here who have applied/are in this program and comment with their knowledge.

I can't speak about the program but to apply at a different college you first do that colleges application once your accepted you apply to the nursing program. Get you a list of nursing programs you like and apply to those schools!

Thank you! I figured that was how it worked, but I wasn't sure. I'm finding it frustrating that at my tech school they allow you to apply for the program before completing all of your pre-reqs, but at other tech schools that off ADN programs they make you complete all your pre-reqs first. The only other school I found that had the same policy as CTC is West Georgia Tech.

1) CTC allows you to do certain pre-reqs while completing the program to help YOU get into and complete nursing school more quickly. If you have enough pre-reqs to apply, do it. Yes, other schools require that you complete them all first. If you get rejected by CTC, just finish the rest and then apply elsewhere. No big deal.

2) Yes, you interview with a panel. It's the head of the program and a few of the instructors. While you don't HAVE to bring your resume, it could certainly earn you brownie points.

3) You do get points added to your overall score for having prior medical experience.

Thank you so much! Hopefully I get in. I'm currently only taking A&P II lab and lecture this semester, so I'm going stir crazy waiting to apply.
