Hi there! I'm Sharon, and I'll be starting CDU's EL-MSN program this fall (2014). Anyone else starting the EL-MSN program at CDU this fall?
Oh, and I don't want to freak anyone out if you are waiting for your letters - I have no idea when they go out. Sorry! I was scheduled to enter with the spring 2014 cohort but deferred one semester in order to get married (at 36 years old, who wants to wait 3 years! ) So, if you're still waiting for your letter - good luck! I'm rooting for you!
Anyway, I'm starting this page because I'd love to meet everyone whose heading to CDU's EL-MSN program this fall & share information. And if there's enough interest we can start a Facebook page where we can all chat over the summer! (My friend is going to PA school at UW this summer and her cohort has a Facebook page and it's amazing, and I'm jealous. The PA's shouldn't have all the fun! )
Also, if there are any current Spring '14 students who want to chime in - I'd love to hear: how do you like the program? Is there anything you wish you'd known before Day 1?
I can't wait to meet everyone!
Oh hey story guys I haven't checked in in awhile. I have my interview this Friday with professor Leonardo. Somehow I never got a call from her so I was concerned but we were able to reschedule. So nervous! I'm also waiting to hear from USF. Lishi how'd your interview go? Congrats by the way! Thanks for the support you guys
@nna2928 I also interviewed with Professor Leonardo. She is a very kind woman. The interview was quick. When I arrived 2 other applicants were also waiting. They each spent 5 or so minutes with her. I was the last one and was able to talk to her for a little longer, maybe 15 total. She basically goes over your file. She went over the point system with me and told me where I stood and went over a few questions. No hard questions, she basically wants to know why you want to be a nurse and if you are prepared. You will do great! Keep us updated.
I actually didnt prepare much. In the past the more I prepare the more I got nervous. She didn't give me a decision and said it would be a few days. I interviewed last Thursday and found out Monday. Even though she doesnt tell you right there, I believe she gives you an idea whether or not you will accepted by her closing questions. She totally makes you feel comfortable, just try not to be nervous and youll be fine. Good Luck!
I just came back from my interview and I think it went well. It was really short and she did ask questions regarding employment and stuff so that I'll be able to dedicate lots of time to the program. The questions seemed like they were for people they are seriously considering :) hope it's good news
Hello All!
My name is Attallah and I will also be joinng the CDU Fall 2014 Cohort, yayyy!! I received my acceptance letter in early May. This has been a long journey for me up until this point and I am so excited to continue my nursing career. I recently graduated from San Francisco State University at a Public Health major and I am also a Certified Nursing Assistant--although I doubt I will be doing much work in the next 2 years.
I am very excited to meet everyone at orientation. I am not sure if anyone is attending any of the focus groups this Monday or Tuesday, but I will be at the Tuesday group. I am trying to find any opportunity to be involved with the school already. Lol If anyone attends let me know and maybe we can link up prior for coffee.
Also, Good Luck to everyone still waiting a decision! :-)
Hi guys I just got my letter of acceptance today. It's been an uphill battle I'm just glad I got into a program so I can finally get my degree :)
I'm still waiting for USF though and I'm a little worried because I have only two weeks to send in my letter of intent and I want to know if I can get into USF before I accept the offer
