Character Letters

Hi,

I'm under investigation for unprofessional conduct and yes I'll keep it vague. Have any of you requested character letters from colleagues or past employers and how did you go about It? Are these individuals contacted even if they are not related to the situation (not working with you during the event etc…). Does the board or investigator even read these? Does it help?
