Hello fellow graduates,
I'm just curious to see if anyone else has taken a similar path as I. I started working on my med-surg floor during NCLEX testing and stayed there about 7 months before getting my license. Then, after 6 months on the job as an RN, I have moved into a specialty area that always interested me during school and work as a PCA...hospice.
Is there anyone else out there that either left for want of a specialty or because Med-surg just was too much to take for full time? Other reasons are certainly welcome
Interested to know,

I am an ER nurse by majority of experiences but have been away from it for 6 years with the exception of a 6 mo. stint as casual, 1 or 2 days a week. Recently, because of financial necessity I tried to go back to 12 hour night shifts in a busy ER. After 3 days I decided this 51 year old RN did not want to do this anymore. I have been offered a job in a Home Health and Hospice company as a hospice nurse. I feel drawn to it but am concerned, also, about my own emotional vulnerabilities. I am glad to hear of someone who loves it. Thank you.
