I read a letter posted on the EC website regarding changes to the program starting in October 2007. The changes will include an added NC course (8 concepts versus 7) and an added area prior to the CPNE. It looks like the added clinical componet will be called the focused clinical compotencies assessment. It will include assessments, managing multiple patients, and working with an interdispilanry team. It will be a four credit three part exam that must be completed before the CPNE can be scheduled. I believe if you have your exams completed by 2009 and have enrolled by the October 2007 deadline you will be excluded from these changes. For those of you in the program, this may be the motivation to finish before the new changes take effect. For the information go to www.excelsior.edu then click on nursing, then AS and AAS in nursing, and scroll down to the bottom where you will find these letters in pdf format.

Hi-
Do you think is EC trying to fulfill the "concurrent clinical" that CA requires?
Not trying to start anything, just asking:idea:

Yes, I absolutely think they are trying to compensate for the backlash.
