Hi People,I was awarded the CHANCES scholarship at Childrens' Healthcare of Atlanta :balloons:and was wondering if anyone out there could tell me how other recipients liked the arrangement. It's a $32,000 for nursing school for three years service in return once i graduate from Brenau in may 2009. I'm actually pretty exicted considering CHOA has applied for Magnet status (i hope they get it) and the few people who i have talked that work there really enjoy working there. Any insight on Children's or the Scholarship and how it worked out after gradutation would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Mexarican Congrats on getting the scholarship!:balloons: I am interested in the CHANCES scholarship at CHOA too, could you tell me when you applied and if it was hard to obtain. Any info would be greatly appreciated.:)
i applied sometime in march before the may 1st deadline this year for this fall (07). When i went to accept the scholarship i asked how many people applied and how many got it. it was like 130 people applied and 10 recieved the scholarship. In terms of scholarships thats not bad odds if you think about it. You do the application and all the requirements and then they interview the finalists and narrow it down after that and about two weeks later you find out. if you'd like to know anymore let me know.

Hi Mex,
I am applying for CHANCE scholarship and the nurse externship at CHOA. I love working with children. I have been working as a nursery for young infants and toddlers at my church since 2006, and I enjoy every day of it. And I
would like to share the same love to sick children as well. In fact, I plan to work at CHOA after finishing my BSN nursing at KSU by the end of this year, I'm so excited! About one part of the scholarship requirements, I already have 1 letter of recommendation from my nursing professor. Do you think I can use the 2nd letter from my nursery boss or the letter has to be from another nursing professor?
Thank you
Quynh
Thank you, Mex! I also applied for the nurse externship program there and I just got a call from them last week for the interview on this Thursday. Do you know the interview process? What type of questions do they usually ask? I'm so nervous now.
Also one of the three areas I pick is PICU. Could you tell what is it like working in the PICU?
