Chamberlain vs Grand Canyon University??

Hello Nurse Beth,

I am currently applying to a couple of different RN-BSN programs and I've narrowed it down to Chamberlain and Grand Canyon University. However, from this point I'm having a difficult time making a decision. Primarily because GCU has group projects but Chamberlain has a weird GPA system where you have to get a 95% or above to maintain a 4.0.

My question is when I go for my masters degree are they going to care whether I maintained a 4.0 by one or the other or does it matter at all?

Dear Chamberlain vs Grand Canyon University,

They both are regionally accredited, which is good. When you go to apply for your Master's degree, both schools meet the accreditation requirement for transfer of credits.

Maintaining a 4.0 GPA is not required for acceptance to MSN programs but definitely helps you be more competitive when you apply..

There's a discussion thread here on site about Chamberlain and also some on Grand Canyon.

It's a big decision and I hope you'll talk with some students and others who researched both schools- the advantages and disadvantages.

Best Wishes,

Nurse Beth
