Chamberlain students/graduate question

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi, I am a student looking into the nursing program at the Phoenix Chamberlain College of Nursing. I was wondering if anyone has graduated or is in a 3-4th block where you have done clinicals. How were clinicals? Where were they and how were your professors? And if you have graduated was it easy to find a job? Did you feel that Chamberlain was a great program?

THANKS!

Chamberlain just had their first graduating class in June. It was an extremely small class, but so far, everyone that took the NCLEX passed it on their first try! Congratulations to them! I, myself, have about one year left. I have been doing clinicals for two semesters now. I am starting my third semester of clinicals next week, So far, I absolutely love the progrma and the clinical experiences! I have had so many opportunities. Yes, Chamberlain is a relatively new school here in Phoenix, which may lead to some flaws, but overall, it's a really good program. It's not easy, though! We started out with about 48 students in our cohort and there are only 24 total that are part of the my original cohort (of course, there are some students that are now with us because they had to repeat classes here and there). So, those numbers defintely tell you that nursing school is no joke! It must be #1 in your life! With clinicals, I have noticed that if you are anxious to learn and willing to do anything, the nurses at the hospitals will absolutely love you! I like doing everything for my patients, even if it's inserting suppository or doing an enema. Of course, I have done over a dozen IV's also, because the nurses have noticed how motivated I am. What I like to tell people is: "You get out of nursing school what you put into it" and that is the truth!

I have been going to Chamberlain for a year now. I have seen a lot of changes, good and bad, throughout. There has not been anything "bad enough" to make me want to even think about considering another school. This school, personally, I absolutely love! I have a few of my friends that are starting this school. The schedule isn't bad, either. Generally about three to four days of school, including clinical days. Those days usually consist of about three to four hours each. I wish you luck in your search! What other schools are you considering?

Thank you for your input, I also applied to GCU but I did not get accepted the only people I know that got in had high exceptional GPAs. I am looking into the OCT program at Chamb, but I just haven't heard much about it, I asked to counselor to get a student in the program willing to talk to me bout it, so I can get more info. I have been waiting to get into nursing school and I am so tired of it, I love Anatomy and Physiology/PATHO and all the nursing classes I have taken so far. I am currently at PCH and Red Cross doing some volunteering, so far I love patient/people contact. :redbeathe
