Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Has anyone attended or is currently attending Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta? If so, how is it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am currently attending a technical college and have done all of my pre requisites except for the sciences. My gpa is 3.40. I just found out about this school and I am very interested... thanks.

@ Akelah Thank you. I guess the stethoscopes and other medical supplies won't be needed until we start Fundamentals or Clinicals? Also, do the instructors offer extra guidance with the student if needed, easy to contact etc.... In class and online? Oh and do you know anyone that's taken Pharm yet?? Thanks for all the info, you are a great help!! ;)

Yes they will tell you when you should have your steth, uniforms, and clinical supplies during clinical compliance orientation. From my experience the instructors have been available if needed. As far as pharm goes, I don't have a clue. I'm not taking it anytime soon.

@ Teah were you allowed to register yourself?? Also, which exact course # did you have??? Hoping we can all meet for open house!

No they register you. I am taking transitions, a&p, and critical thinking. I am super excited. What about you? What are you taking?

I hope to be at orientation next month as I start in January too. How did you find out about it? Do you know the date? I have not heard anything about my meeting with student services yet. From my understanding that would be a next step for me. My advisor told me that 48 of my credits transferred, but that is all I know right now. I have sent him another email inquiring about the next step. Anxious to get started!

So sorry for the late response. You will be receiving a letter from the school welcoming you as a new student with date of new student orientation. It is schedule for January 3 from 10 to 1. I would definitely stay on top of your advisor or call student services. Mia that works in student services is very good about giving information pertaining to your file.

@ Teah Ok Kool! I go next week to speak with student services and financial aid. I will probably be taking Logic & Critical thinking, NR 222, and Patho I guess being that I've completed everything else. Guess I will see everyone next year at orientation in Jan.

@ Teah for financial aid after loans and pell grant; will you still have to pay out of pocket? Didi you apply for any scholarships? Just hoping that everything works out where I don't have to pay out of pocket.

Isn't this the school that costs 85k to attend? Does financial aid even cover a fraction of that?

@ Akilah the maximum hrs that can be taken here per 8 weeks is 9 credits??? I'm want to know if I take 7 credits will I still be eligible for full pell grant. Please give feedback if you understand. Thanks!

It's only 85k if you take your prereqs there. If you transfer in a lot of credits, its nowhere near that.

Financial aid is calculated by semester. There are two 8 week sessions in each semester. If you take 12 credits per semester, you'll be eligible for full time financial aid.

I was able to get a few scholarships from fast web and my job. Still have to pay out of pocket. I have another degree also.
