Has anyone attended or is currently attending Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta? If so, how is it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am currently attending a technical college and have done all of my pre requisites except for the sciences. My gpa is 3.40. I just found out about this school and I am very interested... thanks.

How it is different as far as the class, just more work? I am trying to decide what to do take them online or onsite. I will have to take NUR 302 online bc the days conflict with my work schedule. So is One more harder than the other?

The main issue that I have heard from the students taking the 224 & 302 online is that they do not get all of the information for labs and lab check offs. While they still have to attend a lab onsite, their lab intructors were having issues with getting access to their online course shell. So, if they had a weak lab professor they were struggling to get information for check-offs. They claim that the tests are harder too because of all of the "select all" questions that they have online. If you miss one of the choices in select all... you miss valuable points. On the other hand, I know of three ladies specifically that are repeating the course online and are doing fine on their second attempt.

I am taking those classes onsite this session and have had no problems. It is nice to have resources in front of you, or just down the hall to clarify questions and provide tutoring if needed. I decided to take these classes onsite because I feel that they are too important not to understand completely. After all this is the basics that everything else builds on. I was afraid I might cheat myself if I took these courses online.

They screwed us up on our check offs schedules. Until my partner called to remind me, honestly wouldn't do online anymore. Those select all that apply stuffs on 302 exams were totally a mess was hard as rock. Luckily i prepared for the exams my other 3 friends didn't make it now they thinking of dropping the class. Online to me isn't easy anymore is something you cant do without enough reading. You certainly cannot cheat because the stuffs on the screen doesn't match up to the text book. Google is a turn off too, so guys if you want online please prepare your self properly before you open that exams up.

Personally, I wouldn't have taken those classes online even if they offered them when I took it. Fundamentals and Health Assessment are the basis for your nursing school career. Every class from then on will be based on those, especially Health Assessment. You will be assessing for the rest of your life, so you definitely need to know it. By taking it online, you are only going to care about what you need to know for the test. If you think you are the type of student who can learn and retain the information online, then go for it. I would advise you not to.

Fundamentals and Health Assessment is a lot! It's not necessarily difficult, but its a lot of material and check offs. A lot of people have the most difficulty with the test formats. Nursing tests are a different animal. Learn how to take the tests. Get books with NCLEX style questions. These will help through the whole program. The program doesn't get any easier, but its doable.
