Challenging the CNA exam in Florida

Im in a part time LPN program and figures I might as well try my luck and challenge the exam in Orlando. Im super worried about the skills portion. I've watched videos on youtube and any questions I've asked my lpn instructor to explain further . Any one have any tips for doing good on the skills exam.

Yes I passed! That was the most nerve wrecking day I've had. There were 7 of us and my written test was at 9 am and I was in the last pair to do skills at 2 pm. So I had all day to sit there and listen to everyone else talking each other through certain skills. Try not to pay attention to that because I heard a lot of wrong advice in there. I did end up getting catheter care as one of my skills and figured better to be safe than sorry, and dumped the used water and rinse water in the commode. My letter to test took about 2 weeks from my application date and once I received the letter, my date to test was another 2 weeks from then. The best advice I can give is to pay attention to infection control (the girl I tested with never once put on a pair of gloves) and to just stay calm and talk yourself and your patient through the skill. Good luck!

Congrats!!!!! I applied June 5 and got a letter stating I needed a level 2 background which I got the money up for to do yesterday. I thought the one through my lpn school would be good enough but I guess not. Should I say what im doing outloud? Btw where are you located.?

UPDATE! I passed! such a breathe of fresh air. i got Resp, Transfer to wheelchair with a gait, mouth and denture care. I felt so happy and confident. Now i just need to wait on my license number to show up.

I challenged the results of my NA1 exam because the person was not even watching me during the skills portion and was on the phone the whole time, while I was stating what I was doing. I know that for the NC NA2 you don't have to go to a location to take your test, and we did skills checkoffs, and took a final exam before going to the hospitals to do clinicals.

I'm getting ready to challenge the test. Where there specific books you used to study besides YouTube videos?

Hey! I'm seriously thinking about challenging. I'm currently completing prerequisites at Miami Dade College, but recently spoke with Nursing Unlimited in regards to taking a CNA exam review 40hr course. Nursing Unlimited requires you complete AP I & II for the course. I'm planned to take AP II in the fall. I really want to start my experience as a CNA while going for my RN and BSN. Do you guys think this would be a good idea between semesters? or has anyone taken a short exam review before and can share there experiences?

THANKS!

Hey! Did you ever end up challenging the exam? If so, how did it go? I'm curious to do it but I'm not sure.
