CGFNS and problems obtaining a US license

I am wondering if any other Foreign nurses have had this problem. I was educated in the UK in the early 1980's and am unable to get transcripts as my Nursing School shut down and did not keep any records. I went through the CGFNS process, who did manage to evaluate my education and also sat the CGFNS exam. I went on and sat NCLEX in MI. Since then I have held 5 RN licenses, I am trying to get licensed in a couple of States now that won't accept my CGFNS CES that they send and won't license me unless I can have transcripts sent directly to them. Having jumped through all the hoops I needed to when I first arrived here I feel this is wrong. As I said I have worked in several states with no problem. Any ideas as to how I can get around this or who I can appeal to?

Some states simply have more requirements than others. California required all of my transcripts, even though I was born and educated in the USA and held a license in another state. I'm not sure if there's a way around it (beyond working in another state). I do wish you luck, though!

I'm sorry to also read about your situation. Cases like this keep coming and will continue. I also had problems with CGFNS -so I can understand what you're going through. Just a ridiculous and "clever" way to discourage, shut up or either shut down nurses desiring to be successful in what we're doing, then later hold seminars as to how to solve "nursing shortages", while anyone should get an unselfish chance to reach whatever their potentials are in life, and enjoy assisting those in need. Tomorrow WE might be the one in need.
