CGFNS in Florida or Georgia

Published

Hello guys,

hopefully somebody can help me. I am a nurse in germany since february 2016. It ist my dream to work as a nurse in america, preferably in florida or georgia. My english is not perfect at the moment, so please don't be so angry with me.

I have to take the NCLEX test here in germany. At the georgia state board of nursing they told me to get the CGFNS first. After examinating this, I can take the NCLEX test.

Is this right?

Does florida also want the CGFNS test? I just read, that florida didn't want the CGFNS test to get the NCLEX test. Is this right?

Or could andybody of you help me with it. What needs a hospital in florida by me to pass the American exams in germany? It is enough to make the toefl and the nclex, in order to be able to work in florida as a RN?

Thanks for your help!

Greetings from germany, xxmicky :)

Both states require CES from CGFNS which is a breakdown review of your nursing transcripts. If English is not your first language then you will need to sit and pass English exams and this has to be done as well as CES before the state will review your application and say whether you can sit NCLEX or not

Hello Silverdragon102,

thanks for your answer.

I am just registering for the CGFNS. At Step 5: Professional License Information will have the one registration number from me. You get it in america after passed your exam. Do you know if there is a registration number for us in germany? I can not find anything on the internet and not on my papers. I think you didn't know this.. I'm so sad, this is my dream..

I just want to take a english exam here in germany.

Why is it so complicated for us german nurses...

It is as complicated as you make it.... Many IEN make the move so take a deep breath and calm down and just take your time... You I think just leave it blank as you will not get your CGFNS number until they activate your account
