good day!
i am a nurse in the philippines, i have a priority date of june 2008 which hopefully might be current soon. my question is i plan to marry before my pd is current so i can file a join to follow for my husband to be. i took the visa screen certification program (cgfns ) so i can get a working visa which is needed for NY. my bf also plan to be a nurse in NY should he just get the CVS program? from my understanding he wont need the visa screen certificate program because he will be added to my visa as my spouse
so that means he does not need cgfns and ielts like me? just the cvs?
pls help thanks

They are better to get married now rather than later as later could be a delay in them both going. As a immigrant visa applicant it will not change status and take longer to go.
If you are the main applicant then your husband (once married) will not require VSC
Thank you for the reply!
So i need to marry before my pd is current? It will not affect my status?
I read that its the fastest way.
Yes i am
the main applicant! I am confuse you mean he doesnt have to take cgfns and ielts like me? He can just sit in to take nclex? I thought cvs was required cause he is graduated from a foreign school
pls
enlighten me!
He will still need to meet state requirements but will not need VSC. Check with your lawyers but it will not affect status if married before PD but better to get married before PD current and added to your application
Thank you!! :)
i checked the website it says there he still need to undergo cgfns credentials verification, from my understanding he just needs to submit the form of credential verification for ny ( our state ) before he sit down for nclex, so nclex is the only exam he needs?
as long as he goes through CVS and meets requirements then yes only NCLEX is the exam he needs to do
Thank you silverdragon102, is it okey to just add him in the DS230 form other steps must be needed before he can become my dependent?
Your lawyer should know what to do, check with them
