CGFNS CES - AZ

Hi everyone,

I'm American, but I graduated from a Canadian BSN program and have been working in Canada ever since. I do plan to move back to Arizona, so I went through CGFNS and (finally!) was issued my CES report last month.

CGFNS did submit my CES to the AZ State Board of Nursing, but I haven't gotten any further information. Do I need to open an application with AZBN too? Or does my report automatically become my application?

I was wondering how long it took for you to receive your CES report? I graduated from a Canadian BSN program as well and plan to work in Washington State. My CES application states "order ready for review".

Hi Karen,

My status was “ready for review” from Nov 2018 through May 2019... 6 months!

I contacted CGFNS a few times during that time to basically confirm they hadn’t overlooked my file but they didn’t give me much info. Fortunately when I heard from them in May the report was completely finalized.

Also, I believe you need to submit an application to AZBN for your license as well. The report is usually just a formality/screening to show that you meet the qualifications to work/obtain your license.
