Hi everyone,
I am a new nurse and had a few questions re: CEU's. Are there certain criteria for selecting online CEU courses? If you type in free CEU's, you get a whole bunch of sites and countless pages. How do you know if it's a real site? How do you know if the BON accepts the CEU from a site? Can you do all your CEU's for free or do you have to pay for them?
I searched my BON website and they didn't really limit anything. They just want your CEU's to be of a certain subject matter. I did 2 online CEU courses yesterday and one of them says to check with your BON to see if it is accepted.. argh.. can anyone shed some light on this???

I do all my CEU's at http://www.medscape.com. It is a free site, you just have to register and they even keep a running tab of all the credits you have earned. If I am not mistaken their CEU's are approved in most if not all states. I think that if you go to their website, it should tell you what states they are approved in. Also Merck has free CEU's for nursing as well and once again you have to register. If I am not mistaken the website is http://www.merch.com. I hope this helps. I want to commend you for being driven enough to think about CEU's especially as you are a new nurse. :balloons:
