CRNA School Admission Essay?

  1. I am preparing to apply to CRNA school and starting to write my essay. I was wondering if any of you who got accepted would mind sharing your admission essays? Or offering words of wisdom, do's and don'ts, what the admission team is looking for, etc. Any help and/or insight as to what successful essays look like would be appreciated!

I had to write an essay that was a statement of goals, and why I wanted to become a CRNA. I would suggest a theme to your essay to make it more distinct from the other essays out there. On my own for my essay, I chose three personality traits that I thought were most important for a nurse and a nurse anesthetist, and I talked about them in my essay. Also, I think it's important to be honest in your essay, and not fill it with a bunch of BS. The essay is probably not a critical factor in your application process, but it is a contributing factor. That being said, it does not have to be literature, just a statement of your personality and characteristics. Don't mention your credentials too much. That information is in your resume, and can be looked at easily. The essay should allow the admissions committee to get to know you a little.
