has anyone taken the certified pediatric nurse exam? Is there any helpful resources besides the list from the PNCB website? The website suggests reading about 10 books with no specific agenda.
The course outline they send is also very vague with no specific areas to focus on.
I am not trying to get off easy, but the suggested study material is so vague. There don't seem to be any study guides or exam prep books.
I know there was an exam prep at the SPN conference in FL but I could not attend. Help! is there any other helpful study resource??

I have been a proctor in the past for the CPN test. Here is what I have given my employees to study. Core Curriculm for the nursing care of children and their families (Jannetti Publications) and Pediatric Nursing (lippincott)
also if you go online you can order from the Certified Pediatric Nurse (PNCB)Website a practice test booklet for $75.00.
I have had my certification for 7yrs and have assisted over 12 people in attaining their certification successfully using these 3 materials.
Thanks for your help. I did find out about a website called Nurse Builders which was recommended by someone else answering my post. It helped alot and I have already passed. I did not know the PCNB website had practice tests, that would have been helpful too.
I did use Lippincott Review of Pediatric Nursing too.
I am glad it is over, but thanks for the info. I will pass it along to my coworkers who are going to take the test.
I was glad I passed since I was the first CPN on our unit ever.
