Has anyone else out there applied to this class? Submitted my app a few days ago! Hoping for a short wait and good news.

Hi!

I have almost completed my essay, and am applying to 160. I was hoping to be ready for 158, but I was not. I actually was already in CNEP class 128, but I was having some questions about whether or not I wanted to continue with school/whether I should stay in midwifery and what not. See, I started my program the same exact day as I started working at a very large facility with over 12,000 births per year and I feel that I got overwhelmed and my vision of what I really wanted to do became blurry.

So, over the past 6 months I have been working as a nurse recruiter, and with the anti-stress that that was, I was able to take a step back and really realize how passionate I am about women's health (especially with this election), and how much I truly want to be a midwife-- litigious environment, crappy hours and all. I truly cannot imagine a better career, or one closer to embodying the essence of life day in and day out. I wish you luck!!!!!:)

I was accepted for class 157! I am attending Frontier Bound the first week of December and starting class in January! Good Luck!! I hope you hear good news!

Hello!

Thanks for sharing. I totally understand the delay...I was all set to apply three years ago, and I procrastinated mostly out of self-doubt. I have been working as a chart auditor in my ER for the last year or so after spending the first five years of my nursing career in high-stress nursing work. I believe the lower stress has allowed me to regain my perspective and motivation as well :) This election has definitely helped refuel my passion too! It will be a stressful career at times, but I believe the differences we will make are well worth it. I struggle with the crappy hours when I think about juggling on-call with having young children in the future, but I figure if anything, I can always fall back on the ability to focus on office visits rather than births for a while.

Best of luck to you! I believe Class 158 and 160 are on the same timeline for classes, just different bound dates. Hope we both get accepted and can stay in touch!

I've applied as well - Biting my fingernails, waiting. Good luck to you!

Hi! Did you get accepted to 158? I'm currently on the waitlist :whistling:
