Hi, I have heard that the cost for this course is around 16 thousand. Although I cant really understand why you would want to do this course and pay all that money. I personally have completed the EEn course and was payed to do so. It was a great course, and well worth it. But would I have done it if I wasnt getting payed to do it- NO. I would have gone to Uni, and started from scratch. It was a very hard year, a demanding year, a year that you give up your life because it consumes you. I am now left with ahaving to do a further 2 years at Uni anyway.
The reason why the government is no longer paying people is because there is now to many EENs and not enough Rn's. ( This is from the mouth Of a head teacher at the Tafe which I studied, who of course was one of the teachers who taught). Employers are in desperate need of more highly qualified Rn's, again fro the mouth of the teacher.
If I was you, I would go and get your Uni degree, start from scratch and get to know the system. Just be aware that being a nurse is dame hard work. Sometimes, you question why you do it. I was lucky I was trained very well, and became an asset to the team I work with. Alot opf EEN's aren't looked apon to have that much skill or knowledge and are treated poorly. Uni Is also not what it is cracked up to be. Alot of BS. But if you want a job where you can make a difference-Nursing is great.........
Yeah, I've done nursing, I have a Cert III in Aged Care and a Cert IV in Aged Care. Been doing nursing for about 7 years now.
I've decided to do it by correspondence through a provider in SA. Will cost a bit, but I'll be able to find work fairly easily, and a lot sooner than I would doing Registered Nursing.
I started doing Registered Nursing at uni and it's just not for me at this point in time. I have 2 little children and I was away from home for too long.

Hey
Just want to see if anyone knows any information about fees for these courses. I have heard lots of mixed responses, apparantly someone I know went to an information night at the TAFE and was told the Cert IV was $15,000 and the Diploma was $23,000. But according to TAFE they havent released fee information yet, and they dont know themselves. I have found a document saying its $1300, but TAFE said they dont know anything about that document (even though its a document released by them!!), apparantly at the info night they were told that the government is no longer subsidising the enrolled nursing program in NSW. I just think it's incredibly stupid to have the Cert IV and the Diploma costing more than it does to do University.
