Cerritos College Fall 2020

Published

Hello guys,

I applied to LBCC, Cerritos, Rio Hondo, and Harbor College for Fall 2020. I wanted to start this Cerritos College thread because I didn't see one yet made.

I know that Cerritos College only accepts students once a year and splits them between Fall and Spring cohorts. Do any of you guys know what their stats were for last year? Also, some of your stats would be appreciated.

My stats are:

GPA: 3.65 (15 points)

Pre-req GPA: 4.0 (20 points)

Precious Academic Degree: I don't have an AA but I do have a Healthcare related certificate (CNA) (2 points)

Recency: all within 3 years (5 points)

TEAS: 81.4% Composite (20 points)

Experience: 500+ hours (5 points)

Life Experience: 2 points

Second Language: 1 point

That leaves me at 70 points! I'm scared!!

has anyone heard any updates whether Cerritos is postponing fall 2020?

I looked on their website and it seems that they are moving forward with looking at applications for the 2020-2021 cycle. They had video conferences for students who wanted to get their packets checked off and they still let people turn in applications until March 16.

Maybe the decisions will be delayed but I do not really know what they are going to do.

This is my second time applying to this school. There was around 500 applicants last year.

WOW!! That’s a really big number! But when you’re admitting more students than other programs, more people are bound to apply! May I ask what your stats/points were?

Most colleges have 500-600 applicants each semester. very competitive, but great for the future in health services because the world will always need nurses ? the more the better in the ending result

Yes! I agree. What other schools have you applied to? This was my first round of applying to nursing school and I'm pretty nervous.

It's my first time applying to Cerritos. Feeling super excited ,nervous, and all the above. When I turned in my packet the lady in the front desk mentioned they would be done reviewing applications late May-early June.

Excited and nervous, yes, me too! I accidentally turned in two copies of my high school transcript to them and I received the extra copy yesterday in the mail. All I'm getting from that is they probably started looking at the applications. I'm getting nervous because this means they have probably looked at mine already. I am very anxious now!

Hey Cerritos updated the website ?

APPLICATION SCREENING UPDATE (05/11/2020): Currently, we are moving forward with screening all applicants who applied in this application cycle (deadline 03/16/2020). We do intent on accepting a new cohort(s) for admission for the 2020-2021 academic year (both Fall and Spring). The exact timeline for acceptance letters, mandatory orientation, and admission requirements to be submitted to the nursing office is undetermined at this point. However, we are working towards informing Fall 2020 admission class by June 8th. Please check back on this website, weekly, for any updates. We will update and keep you informed!
