Centriq/ CPSI/ Meditech?

I am a floor nurse for a tiny rural hospital in Alaska. We currently use Healthland classic but will be changing to a different EMR soon and we are being asked for opinions. We have had demos from Centriq and CPSI, Meditech is coming next week.

I have not used any of these systems. Does anyone have any real life experience with any of these? I'm especially interested in people who have used more than one and can compare. I know Centriq is new (it's the new EMR from Healthland) so not sure how many have used it yet.

Our clinic currently uses Centricity and likes it, but their hospital application apparently is not feasible for our size hospital. We would like to go to all one system if possible.

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this. If not, could someone move it? And if there are useful threads, could you post a link? Thank you.

I have found that Centriq is an easy system to use and very easy to learn. From all the other EHR's that I have worked with, I like Centriq the best. It has many modules that can be used throughout the system, the only thing I do not like about it and it is hopefully getting fixed is that if you resolve a care plan, you can not use that same care plan again unless you build it as another care plan such as pain, pain1, pain2, and so on for frequent visitors. This system has many modules to be an all in one system but there are a few 3rd party vendors such as for the Emergency Room but overall it is a great system. Give it 6 weeks to get use to it. I believe you will like it.

Elise,

Have you visited KLASresearch.com? KLAS is the Consumer Reports of health information technology vendors. You can subscribe your hospital for free and receive reviews of EHR vendors straight from the vendors' customers. For your hospital, you would want to search "acute care EMR" and you can see the vendors and how they rank for hospitals of less than 200 beds.

With that in mind, have you considered Prognosis Health Information Systems (prognosishis.com)? The company provides an EHR for rural hospitals and has been extremely successful with meaningful use. With build-your-own documentation and personalized work stations, nurses love it.
