Here we go guys! I won't be able to attend orientation and will have to pick up my packet and meet with them the following week, but I look forward to meeting everyone!

I'm so excited! Hope to have a great 2 years with everyone

Why did you decide to go with Centralia's nursing program? I'm trying to figure out how it compares with SPSCC newly redesigned one so I can make a decision between the two. What is good about Centralia's program??? Thanks.

It was a tough call! For me it ended up being a comfort decision more than anything. I ended up making a spreadsheet to compare the two and it really came down to whichever one I wanted!

I was unable to find anyone who had specifically participated in SPSCC's program since its redesign which made me hesitant to accept it. I also felt like any time I asked other peoples opinions about which they thought their first statement was always "didn't SPSCC lose their accreditation?" I felt like their reputation has been spoiled and even if they are better than they used to be I wasn't willing to risk it since Centralia College had accepted me as well. I have heard feedback from people who have gone to Centralia College and it sounds like it is a solid program that no one seems to complain about so I'm happy with my decision!

Good luck to you!

I know several people who have went to Centralia. And although it can be tough it has an amazing reputation. I read on the Centralia College Facebook website they were picked in as one of the top 2 community colleges in Washington. Very proud to have been selected to enter their nursing program :) it is a very competitive admission so that also says a lot about the people who get in and finish!

ddfg34, did you ever decide which school you'll be attending? Someone from SPSCC called me yesterday since I had been holding off on sending my response until I knew CC received mine!

Have you gotten your hep B vaccination yet FNP? I'm going to get mine today! I might go ahead and get the MMR and start the 2 step TB test as well. Know of anything else we'll be needing? I really wish they had sent more than just the letter like SPSCC did so that we could start getting things rolling!

Hey no I went and got my titers done so I am waiting to hear back on which of my vaccines are still working. I should set up a tb test though. Also, I just got my CPR card last year through spscc and it was the wrong one. The nursing director told me we need one for healthcare providers through AHA and I can get it from Centralia college a week before classes start. She said we will get a ton more information at orientation. Now to try and not go crazy until August 13th haha!

easier said than done! LOL I think I'm freaking out more since I know I won't be at orientation and I'm very afraid that I'll miss out on hearing something!

Hey! I'll be at orientation next week if anyone needs anything. I can recap what was said if it will help you guys out. Can't wait to meet you all soon, I'm excited for this program! :)

I'll see you there

So, yeah, I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I just wanted to chime in about Centralia College. I graduated from Centralia College in June '15, and it's true that they have a wonderful reputation. By now I'm assuming that everyone posting on this thread who are in the CC nursing program have finished their first year. The instructors have high standards, but if you give it your all, you could not ask for better allies! Best of luck you all of you in your second (and final) year :)
