Centra College of Nursing

U.S.A. Virginia

Hi All!

I'm wondering if anyone here is a graduate or current student of Centra College of Nursing in Lynchburg, VA. I was recently accepted for the upcoming fall term. I'd love to hear about your experiences, things I need to be aware of, etc....
The plan is to complete my ADN and then get my BSN and apply to grad school for midwifery. I'm not sure if I will continue with Centra for the BSN program or not, as I am a graduate from Liberty and have credits there that will transfer for a second bachelor's from them for nursing.
Hopefully I'm not the only Centra student here! ? I look forward to hearing from you!

Are you attending Centra College of Nursing, I have questions about the school.

I will be attending in the fall. ? I was accepted in March.

I can’t find any information on the school or any reviews on the school. Have you had any luck?

Here's the link for their program page. The "Moodle" link there also has contact information listed on the left side. They have a Facebook page but they aren't the best about connecting with people there.
When I applied I printed out the application, sent it in with the fee, and when they accepted me I went in to do my drug test and paid for the background screen. I haven't gotten any more letters yet, but when I asked they said that they will be sending out information on class schedules/financial aid in late June/early July.
As far as reviews, the local nurses in my area said that it's a good program, and I have a cousin who attended their LPN program. A lot of the students have job offers before graduation.

Thank you. I was accepted into the LPN program, but I’m still a little unsure. I wish I had someone to ask difficult questions.

I’m going into my second semester this fall. Last semester was the first semester of the new curriculum so it was a learning curve for faculty. The facility is awesome for 1st semester Mrs Patton is the best. The material wasn’t bad but of course I’m a Paramedic with 20 Of health care experience and currently working in a busy ED. Clinicals are what you make of them make your self visible and useful. We still haven’t gotten our schedule as of today for the fall semester soo it’s a waiting game. I know they are switching from moodle cause that was awful hopefully blackboard. All in all they are thee to help you and if you don’t succeed then it’s on you because the faculty is always willing to help if you show effort.
