I currently work in a cath lab and am transferring to a post open heart unit in June. I know I have lots of education and training ahead of me, but it's not until June. Do any of you know of anything I can be reading now? Any good books that are specific to open heart recovery that you can recommend?
I appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks!!:)

you can got more information from ACLS books.
I am an ACLS instructor, so what I am looking for isn't so much re: arrythmias or codes per se in as much as what can I expect "physiologically" from a fresh post-open heart patient just getting off heart-lung bypass, or IABP-wise, or what gtts/meds would I expect to be hanging/pushing, etc. I am sure I will learn all of this during my training. Just thought I could "jump the gun" with some of it until June.
Would the Core Curriculum for CCRN be helpful?
Thanks alot!
