THANKS EVERYBODY!!! that was such a long process.

How long did it take for your BCI to come back?

Mine took just under a week I think. Don't pay the extra for the faster one, there were people on here who did and theirs took longer than mine, not worth the $.

I decided to take one of my professor's advice and enroll in the CNA program at CCRI. That would give me some clinical experience in preparation for the Fall semester. Well... here's how that went:

- Email CCRI informing them of my nursing student status and asked if there was a way of enrolling in the CNA program without having to take the pre-test, BCI, and physical exam. Remember, we have to do ALL of that for the nursing program. Not to mention the huge difference between all the prerequisites, Accuplacer, and TEAS as compared to the simple CNA pre-test.

- Lori answers my email and sends me a FAQ for the CNA program. Uhhhh.... did she even read my email?

- I decided to call. Someone on the other side of the phone tells me that as long as my physical examination and BCI were done within 2 months, all I had to do was to bring them over to CCRI and they would allow me to enroll without having to do them all over again.

- Great! I go to CCRI and guess what? The person who helped me asks if the documents were done within 6 months ( what happened to 2 months?). I said yes. She goes back in a room, talks to someone else, and comes back saying: "I'm sorry, you will have to do them all over again."

So... I will NOT pay for these things again. As far as I know, once you finish 1010 you can take the CNA certification. It would be great to have the extra experience but I will not put any more $$ (it costs $700.00 for the program) into CCRI's pocket than I must do already. It would be great if, for once, we could get a straight answer from these people and not have to take time out of work for nothing. I really hope this trend will not continue once the Nursing program begins in the Fall.

Sorry for taking us into a different topic guys.. just wanted to share the wonderful experience with the lovely people at CCRI :)

QUESTION ABOUT BCI:

So I did the certified background BCI. But did I have to send it to CCRI? Or add them to something? I did it a while ago and it already came back as "no results". But CCRI hasn't sent me anything. Not sure if I had to add them on the account or something so they got the results.

Thanks

It was automatically sent to them. We were told for the nursing program they would only contact us IF there was a problem. Since yours came back with no results, you should be fine. However, if it makes you feel better, it never hurts to call and ask. Congrats to you again!! :D

See you all today in about 12 hrs :) so nervous

Orientation tomorrow!! feels great after all this waiting :)
