I am currently 29 ..a LPN..and I went to Tri County in Franklin MA. I'd really like to get my RN. NONE of what I have done counts for anything other than I am a LPN who passed the NCLEX PN. I am starting from scratch PRE REQS from CCRI. After that I can test out of NURSING 1010 and 1020 with 75 percent or better. Anyone else do this route? I will be doing MATH 0500 ENGLISH 1005 and online psych 2010 in spring. I'm just hoping it isnt the biggest waste of my time ever. I really want this to work out and I dont want to be in school for 100000 years. I'm hoping for 3 classes a semester. then seeing what the test for 1010 and 1020 is like.. Any infor would be great. I'm thinking it will probably take me 5 years in total. (just for any delays yadda yadda) but once i do pre reqs and pass 1010 and 1020 i apply for Level 2 once accepted thats it..one year..and done. PHEW I just want to be a hospice RN. MY GOAL.
thanks..phewwww..LOL

I believe that you can test out of 1010 but not 1020 they were explaining this at the nursing meeting as this does not apply to me I could have heard wrong though good luck :)

I tested out of 1010/1020 summer 2012. I had to complete the prerequisites and apply to the program. Once accepted I had to show them my LPN license and provide a letter of recommendation from my employer. Then they gave me a syllabus and I scheduled a date for the 1010 exam. What I did not know (found out day of the exam) was that I also had to do the math test with each exam. Once you pass 1010 the procedure is the same for 1020. The exams were comprehensive for each class, not easy but doable with some work.
I spent a chunk of that summer studying, but worth it to save the year. And the class I entered was very welcoming and supportive. Everyone was wiling to lend a hand with the program specific things I didn't know.
