2016 CCP Nursing Program

Published

Hey all, just want to reach out to those who are applying/accepted to the nursing program starting Fall 2016! Hope we can become a strong cohort and do this together! I just took the Kaplan entrance exam this evening and got an overall score of 80 (90s in reading, writing, and math... and a dismal score of 40 for science since I'm still taking AP II). I'm really excited for what's next (hopefully an acceptance letter :-D).

Anyone hopeful future classmates on here?

I'm here with you, 7 points, hoping it's enough for me, I'm in a&p 2 now as well so I understand the low science score. Hopefully this thread blows up and we can connect with a good amount of potential classmates

Hello,

I applied early and got accepted on December!

Hope to see ya'll soon!

Wow! That was quick -- my Degree Path just updated my major to Nursing! See you guys at orientation.

Nice to meet my fellow classmates! I got my acceptance letter last week.

Yay! Congrats, rn-robin!

Mine changed too! That means you're accepted for sure

That was a question. Does you're enrollment profile changing mean you've been accepted for sure?

Yes, I'm 100% certain according to what has happened for other students in previous years from the other CCP threads. Congrats!

Congrats everybody! I am with you! So what is next? How do we find out about orientation and background checks, vaccines and stuff?

I think once the class is filled, we'll get some stuff in the mail about paying our deposits and info on orientation! Congrats!

Hey all,

Congratulations on getting in! CCP was a great program and I'm glad I went there for my initial nursing education. Unless they've changed a ton since I started (in 2012) you'll probably get more information about orientation later in the spring. It was mid/end of May when my class had ours. They'll walk you through all the things you need to complete and let you know when you need to have it filled out. This includes health forms/vaccines, signing up for classes, background checks, and signing up for a drug test. We also had the opportunity to try on and order our uniforms that afternoon as well. There's really not a ton you can do but sit and wait until you get more information from them. The only thing I would make sure to be aware of is the vaccination titers. Start saving your pennies now if you think paying for them is going to be an issue, because they're usually not covered by insurance, but that would be the case wherever you ended up going to nursing school.

Congratulations again! I don't want to hijack your thread, but I just wanted to give a little input.

Good luck!

A former CCP Nursing student
