I want to become certified in case management but I've never worked as a case manager. Can I still become a CCM or if not what are my options?

You need 2000 hrs working as a CM in the last three years. Look at the requirements on ANCC.
Thanks for this information - I am starting to realize that most case management certifications require one to already have case management work experience. Is this the requirement for all of the case management certifications?
I remain confused. I have found several if not half a dozen "real" certifications that are available for nurses...and relate to case management. Without any experience, it seems that I wouldn't be able to get my foot in the door as a new case manager without experience and/or a certification. Now what?
