U.S.A. North Carolina

Is anyone out there applying to CCHS for spring 2012? I submitted my application mid-September and was told that letters will go out around the beginning of November? How many students do they usually take? It seems to be a nice school and a friendly environment.

Thanks! :)

Thank you! Good luck to you too! Hope to hear your good news soon!

Hello All I too have applied for the spring semester and have also not heard anything, I am very nervous and frustrated. I decided to go back to school and pursue nursing 2 and a half years ago. I have been a CNA for 2 years in January and have been trying since then to be accepted somewhere!!! I was not an A student in high school nor my first semesters in college. So it is very hard to get my gpa up my recent gpa is great with all my Anatomy classes and other pre reqs...I have everything I need so I would think at least I will get accepted into the prenursing...Sorry for my venting and frustrations...just know that this is really where and what I am suppose to do with my life..JUST WISH IT WOULD HAPPEN!

Good LUCK to all of you, keeping my fingers crossed!!!

I hope you get good news in the next few days - it sounds like you have worked really hard for it! If for some reason you aren't accepted to the ADN program, you may want to consider the Pre-Professional track as opposed to Pre-Nursing. There isn't a guarantee of acceptance, but after one semester at CCHS you can apply for the ADN as a change of major with a very good chance of getting accepted. I say that because it sounds like you have a lot of the pre-reqs done and you've been waiting for a while to get into a program. The Pre-Nursing program seems to be better for someone who isn't really in a hurry to start the program and doesn't have a lot of the pre-reqs completed. Yes there is that guarantee, but 1)there is a minimum grade requirement and 2)they usually won't accept A&P from other schools (even RCCC) so you would have to retake those.

Hopefully you get into the ADN program for the spring and what I just said doesn't matter but please keep it in mind. I speak from my own experience in the Pre-Professional program and from that of others that I have gotten to know in your same situation this semester.

If you have any questions please let me know. I would be happy to give more info.

Good Luck : )

Has anyone who is a current student looking to change majors heard something??

I know of three change of major students that got their acceptance e-mails today. . .

Thanks for your words of wisdom and the insight. I called the school right when I applied and asked if I wasn't accepted into the nursing they would consider me for all tracks...so hopefully something, but I still feel like if I haven't heard anything yet that it is probably a no! Guess if I haven't heard anything by Monday I will call the school and check.

Thanks again!!!

I'm guessing that since I have not heard anything so far that I have not been accepted.. Very disappointed, but will try again next semester. Ugh... Congrats to everyone who did get accepted!!

Don't give up yet you guys. This is the first time they have sent out acceptance e-mails. It may or may not mean anything. Hoping the best for you : )

I received the actual letter yesterday ( Saturday). Has anyone else heard? I'm eager to start meeting people! I'm so excited!

Congratulations again!!! I know a lot of the girls that will be in your class and they are awesome. You will have a lot of fun. Let me know if you have any questions, I would be happy to help you out! What classes are you taking in the Spring?

Alice

I have everything completed except nutrition and medical terminology. As far as I know in spring I'll be taking med terminology and fundamentals of nursing. I'm just going off of the website for spring start curriculum. As of right now the people I know haven't heard anything. Do you know if people have gotten denial letters yet?

I can't wait to meet everyone! I'm beyond excited!

No, I haven't heard of anyone receiving a denial letter yet. Med Term is pretty easy, just stay on top of it and don't get behind since it's online. You can take Nutrition this spring too but I would wait and take it this summer or next fall. The online section is the way to go but it is already filled for the spring. With NSG110 and BIO100 you'll be taking a total of 6 credits which is good because you pay by the hour up until 6 then you pay the same whether you take 7-11. Sounds like you are in good shape!!!
