Ok so I am taking a big chance hear and gearing up to apply for the RN program for Spring 2017. Its a big chance because I still need Human Anatomy 1 & 2 and microbiology. Im taking two of these classes next fall. My gpa right now is a 3.05 and I am planning on taking my teas at the end of June. Im hoping my extracurricular activities like me doing medical missions trips and my work experience(I work in a hospital) will be looked at when entering. Also I plan on scoring really high on the teas test. Ive been studying my butt off non stop with the teas test book. I know its a slim chance because i haven't finished my sciences yet but I am hopeful. What are everyone else's credentials? scores? gap? if you have them!

First, make sure you buy the ATI TEAS V manual. Every subject on the test is in that manual. I took one of the practice tests in the back of the book and graded each section. This will help you know which sections to focus on more than others. After studying the sections, I took the other practice test in the book and graded that. I watched videos on youtube (khan academy is really good) and then purchased an online practice test. Honestly, take as many tests as possible. There are free ones online too that you can use. Each time it helps you increase your score.

Yes I have a teas manual. I have been reviewing it. which section was a little challenging

I would say the science section is the most random section on the test compared to the others so that would be the most challenging. I got a 88.1% in reading, 86.7% in math, 85.4% in science, and 90% in English and language usage. You however, might do better in the science section. You will know your weakness after you take the practice test.

Your scores are really really good! The few people I know that have taken the Teas do not even have close to 80%. You will surely get in. For CCBC, are you going to apply to the ATB program to get your Bachelors or just the basic RN that only involves an associate.

Thanks. I really hope so. My GPA is only a 3.0 so i needed a higher TEAS score to help me become competitive. Just a regular RN program because I wont be able to afford the ATB program paying on my own. I talked to Mrs. Jones at Essex and she said they might be offering an ATB 2.0. This would allow you to apply to the ATB program after you have already started the nursing program. So if that does happen maybe I will apply later. I still need nutrition and statistics to apply to ATB.

I have taken all of the classes required for the ATB. My GPA is also a 3.0. I know someone with that GPA that got in the ATB TOWSON program so I'm trusting God to get me in also. Concerning the tuition, it is much affordable at a community college than a university especially when paying out of pocket. In the long run though you may still need a Bachelors because most places may only accept BSN or at least want to see you enroll in a BSN program prior to offering you the job which could take a year or so to finish.

I agree about the BSN. The website says I do not need stats or nutrition to apply, but I need to have them completed before I start nursing classes (if I get in). So i technically can still apply. I am going to try to talk to Mrs. Jones again to look at pricing and stuff.

How'd the TEAS go for you? Any sections that were difficult?

So I spoke with someone in the shp office, they said that they don't even consider the application if the reading is below 69% even though it says recommend to score higher, such a bummer will take test again in October / November. I only heard this from one person so just FYI.
