Published

Hey pre nursing students! I created this sub for anyone who is applying into CBU's ELMSN program so we can communicate! Please feel free to post any questions, comments, stats, previous or present experience! Good luck to you all ❤️ ?

I declined my admission spot, but wanted to wish you guys all the best!

I recently declined my acceptance as well. Wishing you all the best!

Hello all,

I'm looking to apply to the program... my stats aren't the best but they are not horrible. Any advice? Would like to know some of your stats if you are willing to share.

All advice is appreciated

Hi ? yes! First and foremost you have an entire year to prepare so make sure you take advantage of this time. Volunteer with your local church or hospital, take some entry level nursing courses at a local CC to boost that GPA, get your CNA certificate (if you want a lil bonus). Some facilities will hire you on as a Nurse Aid and pay for your CNA certification course ? study study study for your TEAS exam. I would aim for at-least an 80% being your minimum to be considered "competitive". Spend time on your essay really explaining what you've done to arrive at the point you are today and why you truly feel nursing is for you. Trust in yourself and your abilities, your scores, GPA, and previous degree do not define what you are capable of doing.

I was a second time applicant my stats were also not "great" but  resume is what got me noticed the second time.

I got my CNA cert. from RCC during Fall 2022, 79% on my TEAS, overall GPA from my undergrad degree (Animal vet science) was 2.93, last 60 semester GPA was well above a 3.4, 5 letters of recommendation (LVN course instructor from RCC, CNA Clinical instructor from RCC, my Manager at Starbucks, and two ladies from the kids ministries volunteering center at Harvest Church), I had volunteer work hours at church, 250 hours at Riverside Community Hospital w\Cope Health Scholars Program, leadership as an Shift supervisor at Starbucks (my current job), and less than 50 hours CNA/NA Experience at Arlington Gardens Care Center (SNF).

I did not get in to any schools my first time applying in 2022. I applied to RCC, CSUCI, CBU ELMSN, and more. I tried again and came back stronger with my resume for 2023 and had 4 options. So never give up, if you truly want it you will get it ! Hope this helps. ?

Hello,

Everyone how is the program that are currently in it?

Hi! How did the interviews go? I was looking up information about the interviews and I came across a bunch of video interviews on YouTube. I am guessing this was only temporary since they were all posted during the beginning of Covid. If you've seen any of these interviews, were the questions they answered similar to what you were asked?
