I'm not sure which category would be the best to post this in, so I'm just going to stick it in with general nursing...
I am a student assigned to a 2 y.o. male diagnosed with pneumonia.
I was wondering what kind of specific CBC value ranges that I would expect to see in this patient? We have not covered pediatrics in school yet, nor do I even have a peds book to consult. I've found normal values, but nothing specific to what you might find with pneumonia.
From what I've gathered from the net, RBCs & WBCs could both be high. Is this correct? What specific value range is commonly seen with pneumonia?
Please feel free to provide any additional information that you can share!
Thanks to all for your help! :)
