Case Western Reserve CRNA LEAP Cetificate?

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about CWR's LEAP Certificate Program since there doesn't seem to be a lot of detail on the website. I have not yet applied to any CRNA schools, but I may be interested in this program as my undergraduate GPA was not the best due to some personal circumstances.

I'm assuming the required length of experience as an ICU RN is 1 year because that is typical for most schools now, is this correct? Or does it depend on the schools that they partner with and you have to meet their specific criteria?

Is there any information on how competitive it is? I know it must be but does anyone know of an acceptance rate/how many people they accept yearly? The website says a minimum of 2.7 GPA for science and nursing but is there an average GPA acceptance rate or if you have applied and were accepted what were your GPAs? (if you don't mind sharing!)

If you applied, what was the whole process like?

If you are doing or have done the program, was it/is it beneficial? And is it possible to work at least PRN or part-time while in it?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Hi! I don't have any info because I'm wondering about some of the same things. I am applying this application cycle and hopefully someone who has been or is in the program will reply. Best wishes!

Hi! From what I have read on different forums. This program is just as competitive as CRNA school. I do believe you need at least 1 year of ICU experience. I have heard this program is beneficial and is worth the money. It is very demanding, but I believe you can work PRN while in the program.

FYI - there is an online information session this Wednesday the 8th at 12:00pm ET. Can get all questions answered at that time. I have a list ready!

Where did you see this information?

On their school of nursing page under the admissions tab go to graduate information sessions. If you click on the full list of information sessions link that is in the middle of that page, it's on the list with a link to click to register. Was not easy to find and I haven't seen it advertised anywhere. I was going to email to ask if there was going to be an info session but luckily I stumbled upon this over the weekend, just in time!

@ORtoICUtoCRNA hi! How was the information session? Did you speak to many applicants? What were the average number of years in the ICU?
