I was in the interview and unfortunately am very aware I did not do well due to lack of preparation of how theres actually a method/strategy on how to do well in CRNA school interviews.
Expect the interview to be like all other CRNA school interviews with all very very similar type of questions:

- EI questions are clinical scenario questions. Chatgpt/YouTube will give you a guide on how to answer. To elevate answering this, include the pathophysiology and pharmacology that was in the situation so show you know the type of patients you care for. Be ready to follow up on the pathophys/drugs and tell them what you know about them

- Be ready to answer anything on your resume and anything you mention verbally, they will follow up on that to see you know what you're talking about.

- they will perform a random scenario with you to see how you act/react in different kinds of situations. It's all part of the interview process to get to know who you are as a person and how you handle situations.

good luck, your preparation will pay off. Don't follow advices that say "just be yourself". Nope, theres a way to show them "you've prepared all these year of hard work" through a specific type of answering.

The ones who have gotten in years ago and the ones who have gotten in recently can all attest to this (based on my research haha)

I'm sorry you feel like you didn't do well 😔 I hope you're wrong and you actually get in! Thank you for the insight, it was really kind of you to share. I interview very well BUT I know how much rides on these interviews and unfortunately we only have one shot in those interviews. I'm realizing that I was a big fish in a small pond but getting into CRNA school is us entering a large pond and we're the guppies LOL. There's a lot of pressure because there's a person right behind you ready to take your spot. This is my first cycle applying and it has been so confusing, stressful, and discouraging. If you don't get into this school, it wasn't meant for you. Stay encouraged and don't give up. If you landed this interview, I have confidence in you, that you will land more.

I'm late applying as well. My app was verified a week ago. The next day I received an email from the director saying that interviews were being extended to the first week of October do to the number of applicants. I am confused about this as well.  Finders crossed we both hear something.

🤞 thank you for sharing that update. I'm hoping I hear something this week. Hoping we both get a shot at this 😊

I appreciate your encouragement. It's definitely taken me some effort and mind games to pick myself up from this, but my will and resilience is strong, I'm not giving up. I do have an interview coming up that I'm going to give my all.
The confusion, stress, and discouragement is prob from the unknown I'm assuming, because I can relate to that.
I know you don't have much time left for the interview. I won't say "do your best" because thats not saying much on how to actually do well.
I'd say use Charnelle Lewis on YouTube or even Confident Care Academy for a quick guide to get you to answer the questions.
Don't worry about who is in front or behind you. Focus on showing them you. And about the large pond/guppies, don't worry about it, what matters is you're a quick learner and can execute effectively while being pleasant to work with. Everyone started off as a novice, and with time/effort/good attitude, they've all succeeded. Schools want to know you at least have a baseline of what you should know and who you are as a person, and they see if they think they can work with that and if you can succeed in the program.

This was actually my favorite interview by far! I interviewed at another university and it was way more challenging. The panel was so welcoming, I didn't get asked a lot of clinical questions. I was my authentic self, it felt like more of a conversation where we laughed and they asked light hearted questions rather than an interview. At the end they all gave me a tour of the sim lab which is super nice. The interview for me was maybe 10 minutes? They have snacks and drinks for you too to come you comfortable.

Make you more comfortable *

Manifesting a successful interview! I'm going to inbox you because it would make me so happy to hear that you got into school! Thank you so much for your advice, I'm going to take it with me on this journey. It would be unfortunate if you didn't get in because based on what I've read about the school and the essay questions, you truly emulate kindness and humility. Maybe one day we'll run into one another as CRNA's; that would be such an amazing full circle moment!

Sorry for the typos 🤣

Does anyone know how many people they have interviewed?

Any updates? We should be hearing by next week! 🤞🏼

Nothing yet, I assume next week as well. I think they wouod

be going through all old interviews and these last few from yesterday to make decisions

I was just invited to interview at Carson Newman on Oct 16. It was the only day left according to the program director. I find it interesting they are still inviting people to interview. The application deadline on NursingCAS was 10/01.

It's a bit discouraging when both the website and the interview panel originally said they'd be making decisions by the week of September 15th... 😕 (although I am happy for others getting opportunity to interview of course). Especially for those of us who are out of state and own houses etc.
