Career after termination?

Nurses Career Support

Published

Hello. In a nutshell, I am a brand new nurse. Was terminated 12 days after completing preceptor training, (prior to being finished requested a couple more shifts with a different preceptor and was denied). Made charting errors which looked like pyxis errors. Was reported to board and the case was dropped after investigation by board with no actions. In the several months waiting to hear form board, I returned to by first career. I would now like to begin a career in nursing which I have longed to do for so long. I am struggling with how to apply and answer the termination questions. I only worked as a nurse (counting preceptorship) for 3 months after graduation. Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

"It wasn't a good learning situation" or "It wasn't a good fit" are the old standards.

You will probably need to apply at places like jail, LTACH and SNF to get a foot in the door.
