Career/job ideas for traveler's spouse?

Thought this might be the right place to get some pearls of wisdom.... Or at least some wild ideas. :)

We are a young couple, 29 and 26, and I (the husband) have just begun travel nursing as an RN in psych. My wife has a BS in political science with a minor in social work. She worked at child protective services for a year, and was totally burnt out by the end of it. She is very hesitant to continue in the social work field, especially in the medical community. She really wants to persue her master's degree online while we travel, but really doesn't have a good direction.

So, I'm looking for suggestions for her. Looking for some kind of work that will be portable while we travel, and as easy to find (or close) as nursing work. Something which she can continue her education towards while on the road as well. She is much more attuned to the soft sciences than the hard sciences.

Alternatively, how about just some "jobs" that spouses do while the nursing spouse is working? Stuff that might pay better than average, but is still obtainable as a short-term position.

Temp agencies could provide regular day to day work, like receptionist or admin asst. Better than no job. If she gets involved with one of the agencies that handle her line of work, she might be able to get some medically related work. Suggest she get a CNA license. She could work for one or several of the nurse staffing agencies short term or on call.

As far as continuing her education, she pretty much needs to get into online courses which can be done anywhere, anytime. Brick and mortar wouldn't allow for too much moving around. She can work on pre-reqs if she wants to go into nursing.

Another idea is medical transcriptionist or coder. There is another thread about this where someone cautions that one should get the education from a good school like a community college rather than the proprietary schools, which can be very pricey as well as lacking in professional reputation.
