I am attending an orientation for Career Care Institute in a few weeks in Lancaster, CA for the LVN program. I wanted to know if anyone has attended this school and what was your experience. Do they offer job placement? I really need to find a school where I can get a job after graduation. My company folded last year and I have had trouble finding work so I decided to go back to school. If anyone knows a school with job placement please let me know. Thank you in advance.

Dear Mrs. me:
I am a recent graduate of the Career Care Institute, I graduated from the school and also recieved my LVN license. But if I were to do it all over I don't think myself or many of my classmates would go back to that school!!! It was the most unorganized school I have ever been to, I was told that they do provide job placement, but guess what they don't. And trust me I will be in debt for a while to pay off that school. I guess the best advice I can give to you is find another school that costs less and is more organized. Oh and by the way I just found out that there credits do not transfer and if you plan on going on for your RN you have to start all over... Don't get discouraged though there are plenty of schools that offer better. Keep up the good work and good luck my dear..

I just conpleted a CNA through next door to CCI. I still haven't received any document to proof I completed the program.
I agree CCI's credits don't transfer. Keep that in mind.
Thank you for your responses mrs.BC and work&play. I was starting to doubt this school anyway and now I will definitely not sign up. I was going to start the December class. After reading your post and several post regarding the current state of jobs for LVN's in California. I'm thinking about moving to another state to begin my nursing career. I don't think California is going to turn around anytime soon and I need a career now.
I moving to Texas next month. I live in Palmdale, CA and I don't think is going to get any better here in AV.

i live in quartzhill... lvn in cali have it hard to get jobs.. you may have better luck if you tried other medical facilities besides hospitals.. i had a freind who just passed her test and got hired at glendale adventist.. as far as nursing its getting harder to get jobs as a RN... infact, Antelope valley hospital wont hire new grad RN's unless they have there bachelors.. i work at avh i suggest if you were to stay at a hospital to continue your training and they may be more inclined to hire you if you grad as a nurse.. hope that helps..
i also had a freind who was in my micro class last semester... decided that he wanted a quicker fix to a career and attended that school... has been having problems from the get go.. and regrets leaving avc they have a lvn program here at avc but i think the wait is like 3years... because of the pre reqs being limited.. perhaps you can check other schools like coc etc.
