I recently moved from the east coast to Colorado from a small magnet non profit hospita to a corporate 500 bed hospital. At first I was excited for my new position and a chance to start learning a new specialty. I had been doing med surg for four years and enjoyed my old hospital and loved my coworkers but wanted to try a new specialty. Prior to orientation I began to see my new hospital was experiencing some changes in regards to human resources and new hire processes. I am typically very flexible but am becoming frustrated. Over the course of orientation I have been pulled off orientation multiple times to take patients and have felt as a result the orientation to be very disjointed. My schedule changes weekly, making it difficult to plan the week ahead. I am also working nights which I thought I could adapt to but am definitely not a night person. I have thought of looking for other jobs but wonder if I should give this more time? have only been there 3 months. My managers know about the orientation process and the human resources changes and are not pleased with it as well. I am nervous about burning bridges and what I may say on my resume or in an interview.
