hi everyone! I just had started to do care plans. Part of my assingment is to do nursing interventions for lab results when they are too high or too low.can anyone help please!! Is there any book that I can check or something???can anyone tell me some interventions??? Help

you need to check a lab reference book or an online lab reference.

lab reference books give you an explanation of what the lab tests are measuring and will tell you what medical diseases and conditions give you elevated or decreased lab results. some abnormal lab results have medical names, i.e. hyperkalemia (for elevated potassium) or hyperglycemia (for elevated blood sugar). some will have manifested signs and symptoms as well to go along with the lab result. keep in mind that treatments are aimed at altering something, so treatment will aim to alter the lab result and/or its manifested signs and symptoms. any medical treatment for them can be found on websites like

thanks daytonite, as I said i'm new at doing this labs and had no idea how to start. I'm gonna start looking for some lab reports books now for my report on Monday. I also gonna check the website.
