Heya Folks,

I'm

Anyone have any faves and why?

Thanks!

I haven't really gotten a chance to look through it yet but people in my class have said it's pretty good: Nursing Care Plans & Documentation by Carpenito-Moyet.

Also, just to inform you I just found a website: http://www.careplans.com. Not sure how good it is yet but I thought I'd share

Specializes in ICU, psych, corrections.

We use Clinical Applications of Nursing Diagnosis: Adult, Child, Women's, Psychiatric, Gerontic, and Home Health Considerations by Helen C. Cox ISBN 0-8036-0913-2

Several other students agreed that this book is great. It seems to be pretty helpful, but we have only started care plans. And we were told today in class that we will more than likely want to get more than one book as a reference.

Specializes in Trauma/ED.

We use mostly "Nursing Care Planning Guides" by Ulrich but I like to have a second book in case I can't find what I want in the first. I also use "Clinical Applications of Nursing Diagnosis" by Cox. Plus there are little handbooks that are handy if you have no idea what diagnosis to use (not sure of the names). Good luck careplanning it's a real pain in the #$%, if you ask me! We have to write 7 system careplans for each pt we take care of...yuck!

Specializes in Hospice, LTC, Home Health.

Vettech,

I found Springhouse corporation"Nursing Diagnosis Cards". These are fool proof an you can carry these cards in your pocket. The instructor's were very impressed with these cards as they are complete. I found them at "Books-a-Million". The University now carries these cards as the instructor's suggest them. These were life saver's-check them out!

My class also use Clinical Applications of Nursing Diagnosis by Cox. I didn't like that book so I search for another book call Nursing Diagnosis Handbook by Betty Ackley and Gail Ladwig, I love this book.

Specializes in Float Pool, ICU/CCU, Med/Surg, Onc, Tele.

We have "Nursing Diagnosis Handbook: A Guide to Planning Care" by Ackley & Ladwig. It's alright... I haven't looked around at a bunch of others, because this one was required, but it gets the job done. I'm going to look into the cards, though!
