car insurance for nursing school in CA

So I've never really needed a car. I've been taking the bus and walk all my life. I've emailed the clinical coordinator, who is also out of office atm. since i'll need a car, I'm studying for my permit and license right now, but I won't have a car first semester.

Now, the background check asks for car insurance information which I don't have. So, if I'll be car pooling or taking public transportation (uber if it's not available) first semester.

I'm a little concerned that it'll get my admission revoked since car insurance is required on the background check.... it seems that only in CA do nursing schools ask for car insurance info

Would it be possible to get it waived?
