Cannot stop the self-doubt of becoming a nurse

Hey guys. I am 24 years old and have just registered to take my prerequisites this Fall to get into the nursing program. I guess I should tell you a little about myself. I wanted to be a nurse since 6th grade when I had my hemangioma removed. I applied to schools for nursing where I would have to dorm and got into all of them. A little before I graduated high school, I chickened out and decided to stay home and commute to college. I couldn't get into the nursing program at the school I went to because it was already full so I started as a liberal arts student. After about a year and a half there, I decided to switch into the Psychology program. I graduated 2 years ago with a Bachelor's in Psychology. I love psychology but didn't really want to get my masters. I'm not too interested in becoming a social worker, therapist, psychologist, etc. About 2 weeks after I graduated with my BS in Psychology, I got a job as a legal assistant at a law firm, typical 9 to 5 office job. I've been at that job for 2 years now because I was depressed and felt stuck. I gained 35 pounds but thankfully have lost that and even more! After my friend left the firm and got another job, I finally had the yearning to go back to school for nursing. I applied to the same school I graduated from and got into the Science, Technology, and Society program where I would take my prerequisites for nursing. I am beyond terrified. I haven't made my classes yet so that may be why I am even more terrified. I do not do well with change so taking this leap is what worries me. Working full time for 2 years makes me nervous to go back to school and probably only work part time during that. I love the medical field and really want to be a nurse. If anyone has any advise/tips, I would totally appreciate them.

if you go to nursing school and don't do well, Worst case scenario is you might be right where you are two years from now.

Best case scenario, you'll be happily trotting off to a new career in nursing.

if you don't go to school, you're guaranteed to be where you are right now two years from now.

Honestly, you might do better in school after being out of it for awhile. If I went back now, I'd take it WAY more seriously, knowing what's at stake without mom and dad to fall back on like I had as a teenager. Working and doing nursing school will be tough and you'll have to get good at making a schedule and sticking to it, but it's doable. In my graduating class we had a single mom of 6 so I know it's possible (though I don't know how she did it! lol).
